Overview

I joined the Institute of Designers in Ireland’s I’m A Designer campaign to build the landing page for iamadesigner.ie

The campaign aimed to gather insights from the design community in Ireland. I was brought in as a last-minute contractor to temporarily replace Context Studio’s developer, who had gone on leave. The task was to take a complete set of Figma designs, layouts and website copy into a responsive, production-ready landing page.

While I’m usually more involved creatively, in this case my role was to implement a very specific vision exactly as scoped. This required me to dial back my design instincts and focus on precise execution. Which required discipline, attention to detail, with careful balance between implementation, collaboration, and problem-solving.

Process & Collaboration

I collaborated with an external design agency, Context Studio, and the IDI’s communications lead to ensure that brand integrity, messaging, and quality were delivered as intended.

I developed the site using Webflow as a visual builder. This approach allowed for rapid layout, styling, and iteration without compromising on production quality or time. It also made it easy for Context Studio and the IDI's Communications Lead to stay up-to-date.

Once the first build was in place, I deployed the site on a staging domain, where several key issues came to light: inconsistent responsiveness across screen sizes, and areas where copy needed more clarity or rhythm. Rather than assume solutions, I ran tight feedback loops with the IDI Communications Lead, where we walked through mobile transitions and tweaked copy.

Once we finalized the content and visuals, I exported the Webflow build as clean HTML, CSS, and JavaScript files. Lastly, before handover, I deployed them in Microsoft VS to ensure everything was smooth.

Outcome

The final landing page was fully responsive, QA tested across major devices and browsers, and delivered a day ahead of schedule. The campaign launched on time and remains live today.
